Company Vision

"We will provide more service to our customers than others think necessary; We will care more for our customers, employees and community than others think wise; We will be more technically innovative than others think practical."

History

H-O-H Water Technology was incorporated as H-O-H Chemicals in 1968, founded by Robert F. Hutchison. His son, Thomas F. Hutchison has been president since 1989 and is the majority shareholder. The company name was changed in 2008 to more accurately reflect what we do – we provide water treatment programs that include chemicals, but also include equipment and service. The company headquarters are located in Palatine, Illinois, along with state-of-the-art laboratory and production facilities. We maintain warehouses in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Detroit, Michigan and sales offices in Nashville, Tennessee, Tampa, Florida and Phoenix, Arizona.

Company Strategy

We execute our corporate vision by providing what we call The Right Chemistry to our customers – water treatment chemistry and business partner chemistry. We do this by:

  • Unique Customer Focus

    We are committed to understanding our customers' needs and working to meet those needs with the products and services we provide.

  • Technical Innovation

    We consistently provide water treatment solutions that are unique in the industry. We will always follow sound technical principles, but we often apply them in unique ways, involving chemical, equipment and services.

  • Environmental Leadership

    Water conservation has always impacted our treatment approaches. In this time of sustainability and resource preservation, technologies like The Green Machine-, reverse osmosis and ultra filtration clearly demonstrate our environmental leadership. Many of our water quality engineers and managers are LEED AP certified to work with our customers to accomplish their environmental objectives.

  • Service

    We believe that we are "large enough to serve, and small enough to care." When we spend the time to know our customers we can then provide the best service. Our service reports are the most thorough in the industry; our laboratory exists for customer support as well as research and development; we ship products from stock, providing same day delivery in emergencies; or customer service personnel, from the order department to delivery specialists, know most of our customers on a first-name basis. Our company is defined by how we service.

  • Education

    Water treatment programs are most effective when we work as a team with our customers. Therefore, we emphasize customer training, both on-site and in regularly scheduled seminars in a classroom setting such as the training facility at our headquarters in Palatine.

The President's Message

We will provide more service to our customers than others think necessary;
We will care more for our customers, employees and community than others think wise;
We will be more technically innovative than others think practical.

We live in a world where mediocrity is too often accepted, where concern for others is minimized and where playing it safe is viewed as the best way to go. We are blessed at H-O-H with the opportunity to be different, as our vision statement hopefully communicates.

As president of H-O-H, my desire to see my company achieve this vision is not simply because it is good for business; it is also because as a Christian I believe that we can be different in a way that is pleasing to God. My hope is that He is pleased when we "provide more service to our customers than others think necessary" because He expects us to do our best "not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord (Col 3:22)."

We can certainly "care more for our customers, employees and community than others think wise" because Jesus Christ cared more for us than anyone would have thought wise - He gave up His throne in heaven for a time to come and serve us, and more amazingly, to die for us (Phil 2:5-8). I will care for others because He cared for me. We will provide a positive work environment, we will remain committed to employee profit sharing and we will give back to the community with our financial resources and with our time.

An important way we care is to be good stewards of God's creation. As we are in the water business, caring for this precious resource is something I feel led to do. Therefore we "will be more technically innovative than others think practical," always aware that the technologies we develop can have a positive impact on this creation that God expects us to tend.

We are grateful for the opportunity to provide water treatment solutions to our customers - we are obviously in business to make a fair profit and so we appreciate being paid for the value we hopefully offer. But we are also grateful for the relationships that are formed and the trust that is earned as we strive to achieve our vision. Thank you for your business.
